SYNERGY HomeCare groups to provide outreach to People in Need of Food and Companionship

Woodbury, MN (December 16, 2011)- This holiday season is bringing out the best in the five SYNERGY HomeCare franchise locations in the Twin Cities.  These independently owned and operated business are pooling their resources to help individuals and families in the community that stand in need of nutritional and emotional sustenance.

SYNERGY HomeCare’s outreach program began at the Minnesota Fall Aging Conference, where the owners met with a group of nurses and administrators from hospitals, assisted living facilities and other medical facilities.  During these conversations, the owners asked these medical professionals to nominate families who needed help during the 2011 holiday season. 

Nominee Susan Reid was chosen to receive Thanksgiving dinner, courtesy of SYNERGY HomeCare.  Susan, who was nominated by DARTS, and chosen because she would be alone for the holiday, was excited to have the compassionate company of Percy Nelson, owner of SYNERGY HomeCare Twin Cities , “Spending time with Susan on Thanksgiving was what I imagined when I opened a home care company”, says Nelson. “This is something we want to keep doing.”

After their fulfilling Thanksgiving experience, the Twin Cities SYNERGY HomeCare locations have decided to extend Christmas meals and companionship to 8-10 more families and individuals.  They will receive additional nominations from medical professionals in the Twin Cities area.

“The holidays are a time for goodwill. They are a time to feel loved, not lonely”, says Percy Nelson. “We are excited to serve more people this season.”
