Less Sleep Associated with Alzheimer's Disease

Researchers at Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health recently completed a study on the possibility of a connection between lack of sleep and Alzheimer's disease. According to Time, those who get less sleep or poor quality sleep are more likely to have abnormal brain images - the first sign of the neurological disease.

According to the Whole Grains Council, an individual's stroke risk can be reduced by as much as 36 percent, the risk of developing type 2 diabetes goes down by 21 percent, the chances of heart disease are decreased by 25 percent and adults are better able to maintain a healthy weight with whole grains.

Older Adults and Financial Decisions

 A new report by a team of researchers at Yale University found that senior adults are less likely to make rational financial decisions, according to HealthDay News. The report was published in the September issue of Psychology and Aging and stated that others should be aware of the difference between older and younger adults and how they make decisions.
