Empathy. Loyalty. Compassion. Trust.
These are the expectations we have of all of our caregivers and home care specialists– because they are the same expectations we would have of anyone caring for our own children or aging family member.
Reem joined our SYNERGY HomeCare team in October 2016. As Administrative Coordinator, Reem’s contribution has been invaluable. She started as a caregiver, and now she’s in the office to coordinate interviews, vetting, and training of all home care aides. She schedules clients’ services and works with Peter to resolve any concerns or changes that arise. Her primary goal is to ensure that clients have the best match for a caregiver who will meet their needs and provide comfortable and enjoyable service; and that caregivers have the support from our office to meet the highest professional standards. She understands that the relationship and compatibility between client and caregiver are key!
Reem was born in California but spent most of her childhood back in her family’s home country of Ramallah, Palestine. After high school, she came back to the U.S. and then attended The University Of Rhode Island majoring in Human Resource Development and Nutrition. She further completed a prestigious internship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center and became a Registered Dietitian and a Food Safety Specialist. As Child Nutrition Coordinator she managed foodservice and nutrition programs for Boston Public Schools for several years and continued to work part-time in the Weymouth school system until she joined SYNERGY HomeCare. Reem has also provided meals and caregiving for members of her church and community, which sparked her interest in this career change to home care and joining our team as one of our home care specialists.
Gygy (Gislene) joined our team as Lead Caregiver in April 2018. She helps train and orientate our new caregivers and provides additional training and support to our current caregivers as needed. She also assists in completing home assessments and client care plans, as well as introducing the caregiver to the client on the first day of service, to facilitate the care. Gygy’s other duties as Lead Caregiver will include conducting quality assurance visits at our clients’ residences to ensure that we are providing premier care 24/7.
Gygy brings to SYNERGY a wealth of experience as a CNA at Brigham and Women's Hospital for many years. She also has diplomas in Nursing, Culinary Art & Science, and more. Gygy’s healthcare experience, warm personality, and professionalism are a great addition to the care we provide for our clients.
